My experience with Drupal and CiviCRM

I created my first production Drupal website in Summer 2008. For various reasons I'm not a big fan of PHP so I dreaded the thought at first. It took some time to get accustomed to the Drupal way but it was already really easy to set up basic websites.

In the course of 2009 I've created many more websites and I started.

Right in the beginning I tried contributing back to the project but the structure of drupal.org wasn't very clear to me yet. In early 2010 I got excited again about giving back some code and more ideas.

Hosting

I'm hosting a lot of different websites. Many wikis running MediaWiki and a lot of websites running Drupal. I mostly host through Hetzner, which is running on green electricity.

VAKANTIE-ZUID-LIMBURG.nl is an attempt to create a complete website about a very specific topic: going on holiday in my native grounds.

Moving my blog from WordPress to Drupal

WordPress is a great blogging platform. I've been using it for a couple of years now for my blog. However, with some small exceptions I haven't really dived deeper into it. Since most of my professional time (and a lot of my hobby time) goes into Drupal I started looking into moving my blog to Drupal. I've also been thinking about how I want to publish more about the work I've been doing.
